Fiat Kobelco
In 2001, CNH Global, Kobe Steel Ltd., and Kobelco Construction Machinery reach an agreement to form a global alliance for the marketing, development and production of crawler excavators worldwide. The alliance with Kobelco includes also distribution of CNH construction equipment in Japan and the Asia Pacific region.
Fiat Kobelco was founded in 2002 in Italy as a joint venture between Fiat and Kobelco of Japan. This followed the former joint venture with Hitachi, Fiat-Hitachi, which was dissolved in 2001. Fiat Kobelco built construction equipment such as Excavators, Backhoes, crawlers, Skid Loaders, etc...
