Professional Overhaul Advice
When overhauling the diesel engines, note that the 4-cylinder units are equipped with a crankshaft-driven dynamic balancer to reduce vibration; accurate gear backlash (0.002-0.010 in.) is critical. On turbocharged 7600/7700 models, the intake valve seat angle is uniquely set at 60 degrees. For hydraulic system servicing, absolute cleanliness is required to prevent contamination of the 10-micron full-flow filter. When using diesel fuel with a sulfur content exceeding 1.0%, the CD oil and filter change interval must be reduced to 50 hours to prevent internal corrosion.
