Gear Case Rebuild Note
Repair or replace all necessary parts when failure occurs unless the total cost of the repair would exceed the cost of a complete case assembly. Clean gear case and remove any burrs or sharp edges from worm and auger shafts with a file or emery paper. Check worm shaft end play after gear case has been reassembled. End play should be within .005 to .040. Add or subtract spacing washers until proper end play is achieved.
